Getting started

Connecting your accounts, hiding one you don't post to, and keeping clients apart.

Which platforms can I post to?

Nine: X, Bluesky, Threads, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest.

You connect them under Accounts. One post can go to as many of them at once as you like — each account gets its own delivery and its own receipt, so one platform failing never takes the others down with it.

How do I connect an account?

Accounts → pick a platform → sign in through that platform's own login screen, in a popup (or in the tab itself if your browser blocks popups). The access token that comes back is encrypted before it's stored.

Bluesky is the one exception: it has no sign-in screen for apps, so you create an app password there and paste it into our form. It isn't your real password, and we store it encrypted like every other credential. On no platform do we ever see your main password.

If nothing connects, the account page says why. Most often the sign-in itself worked: on Instagram, Facebook and Threads the usual cause is that there's no Facebook Page, professional Instagram account or Threads profile behind the login, so there's nothing to connect. Closing the sign-in window yourself once it's done is normal.

You can disconnect any account at any time. That removes the credential immediately and cancels anything still scheduled to that account; posts already published stay published.

Can I stop posting to an account without disconnecting it?

Per post, yes: every connected account is in the composer's To picker, and you untick the ones a post shouldn't go to. There's no longer a switch that hides an account from the picker for good — it quietly let already-scheduled posts and API calls through, which read as a lock when it wasn't one.

If you want an account to stop receiving anything, disconnect it. That cancels what's still queued to it and keeps the receipts of what already went out. Reconnecting later is the same button you first connected it with.

Hidden an account before September 2026? Its row still shows a hidden chip, and the row's … menu has Show when writing a post to bring it back.

Can I run several projects from one account?

Yes. Each project has its own accounts, posts, queue and settings, and you switch between them from the project name at the top of the sidebar. One subscription covers every project you own: plans are priced by how many accounts you can connect, and each tier also sets how many projects you can have — see the plan table.

Still stuck? Ask a person.

Email support@xpost.to. If it’s about a post that went wrong, the fastest thing you can send is the link to it from Posts → Needs you — that page already has the platform’s own error text on it.
