Connect xpost to Claude

xpost is in Claude's directory as a plugin. Add it once on claude.ai and the Claude desktop app and Cowork have it too — they share one list. Then you can ask Claude to write a post and publish it to any account you have connected, and every post still reaches you and, in copilot mode, waits for your approval.

Set it up

Add the xpost plugin
In Claude, open Customize → Plugins, search for xpost and press Add.

Press Connect
Adding the plugin does not sign you in, and Claude does not ask. Open Customize → Connectors, find xpost and press Connect. Until you do, Claude has no xpost tools.

Sign in to xpost and allow it
Claude opens our own page: pick which project Claude may post to, then press Allow. You come straight back to Claude with the connector listed.
One connection reaches one project. To let Claude post to a second project, add xpost again as a custom connector (below) and pick that project when you sign in.

Without the plugin

Where plugins are switched off, or for a second project, add xpost as a custom connector: Customize → Connectors → Add → Custom connector, paste this address, then sign in as in step 3. No key, client id or secret — Claude finds our sign-in from the address itself. Don't do this as well as the plugin for the same project; it makes a second copy.

How to know it worked

In Claude, the connector appears in the list with xpost's tools available to the conversation. On our side, look under Project → AI agent → Keys: there is a row for Claude saying “connected by signing in”.

Whatever the assistant drafts goes through the same path as a post you write yourself: it is mailed to you, and in copilot mode it lands in Approvals and waits for you. An assistant can never approve its own post. The connection shows up under Project → AI agent → Keys as “connected by signing in”, with a Disconnect button that ends it immediately.

What to ask it

Name the account and the platform. Claude reads the accounts it is allowed to see, so it does not need telling twice.

Claude says it has no xpost tools

Most often the plugin is added but not connected: press Connect beside xpost in Customize → Connectors. If it already says connected, start a new chat — a connector added mid-conversation is not always picked up by the one already running.

It asks you to sign in again, every time

The connection was disconnected on our side. Look under Project → AI agent → Keys: if the Claude row is gone, somebody pressed Disconnect. Pressing Connect on it in Claude again is all that is needed.

It posts to the wrong project

The project is chosen on our sign-in page in step 3, not in Claude's form. Disconnect it under Project → AI agent → Keys and sign in again, picking the project you meant.
